Why doesn’t techpaper charge a flat fee?
We don’t want to impose a system on your company. If we were to charge a flat fee we would have to be sure your books only took a consistent amount of time each month and a complete set of input documents was provided to us upon start of work. Depending what has happened in your company over the month, some months can be more work than others. Some months require more chasing of documents than others.
Does my company still need an accountant?
Yes. You should have an accountant (CPA) separate from the bookkeeper. The advantages to this are oversight of the bookkeeper’s work and costs, and CPA tax specialty. CPAs in public practice are tax specialists - they keep on top of CRA changes, and rulings. They see trends across clients tax assessments that they can keep you informed of.
